At Foster Care Furniture, we don’t just teach woodworking— we help young adults leaving foster care build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to thrive.
What they get:
- 9 weeks of professional training in woodworking, carpentry, and construction. Training is in partnership with the College of Western Idaho.
- Hands-on experience building real furniture in our professional-grade shop; furniture sale proceeds are donated to foster care families.
- One-on-one mentorship from skilled tradespeople.
- Career support including résumé help, interview preparation, and employer connections during the Job Fair in Week 9.
Why Your Support Matters:
In 2026, we’ll train 32 young adults across four sessions. For our upcoming January session, we need 8 sponsors to help launch 8 new careers. Your sponsorship covers a trainee’s entire journey—from day one in the workshop to their first job interviews— for just $800.
The Impact:
- Breaking cycles of poverty and instability.
- Equipping a young adult with marketable skills.
- Creating brighter futures for youth aging out of foster care.
